About Me

I provide Therapy for Children and Teens in the Philadelphia Area

I help children and teens who are struggling with grief and loss feel more confident able to manage tough situations. I provide a space where they can feel safe to be themselves and express deeper feelings.

Together, we'll explore how to get to a place where they can adjust and feel joy again.

You’re Worried for Your Child and Need Answers. I Hear You, And You Are Not Alone

It's tough enough for kids to learn how to act at home, in school, and with friends. It's even harder when they have a big problem that no one has the answer to.

They may be feeling overwhelmed right now with all that's going on:

·  they worry that their sadness will make everyone more sad

·  they worry family is unhappy because of them

·  they don't fit in at their new school

·  sometimes they can’t control their anger

·  they may cry a lot

·  they worry that bad things are going to happen to them and their family

If your child has been struggling with these issues with no improvement, then it may be time to for help from a therapist.

It’s Possible To Start Feeling Better after a Loss

As your child’s therapist, I will meet them where they are. I will collaborate with them and you to find best way to handle tough transitions and daily struggles. I will be there for them through this difficult time.

As a child, I experienced the deaths of grandparents and my best friend. I started struggling with anxiety and depression. I would often feel my heart racing, and feel sad and worry so much that I would completely withdraw from the world. Since I have struggled with anxiety and depression myself so young, I know how hard life can be when you are facing these challenges. But it also allows me to know that managing the grief, sadness, and anxiety is possible.

Benefits of Therapy for Your Child

Therapy can successfully help your child dealing with grief and loss. It can help:

·  improve your relationship with your child

·  your child feel more confident to express their emotions and needs in a healthy way

·  parents have the tools and know how to provide their child support

·  parents identify triggers and address an issue early on

I am a highly trained Child and Adolescent Therapist

I received a bachelor of arts in Social Work at Cedar Crest College. Afterwards, I also received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the state of Pennsylvania with more than 15 years experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. Much of that time was spent with children diagnosed with severe mental illnesses and trauma histories in schools, inpatient psychiatric units, and residential treatment facilities.

I have a background in behavioral and attachment theory. I trained at the Kennedy Krieger Insititute with LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) during which I provided trauma informed therapy to children with significant trauma histories. There, I also spent numerous years working with non-verbal students on the Autism Spectrum.
